I really hope that you update this story soon. Kagome had asked him so many times what his problem was with his Sire & he refused to discuss it & then while they were eating she noticed that the version of his Sire that she met that day wasn't the one before her at this moment.Sessh was unaware that before he started to finally express to his father the reason he didn't like being his company,Kagome saw Sessh's Sire as a fraud who had acted like a loving Dad to Sessh & acted as though his reason for wanting to meet her that day was because of his concern over Sessh's happiness & this time when she met him she noticed he did nothing but put Sessh down over & over, then that comment to her,not to concern herself with Sessh's actions & that she'd learn to ignore them over time. She was shocked & disgusted with his obvious disregard for his son & then when Sessh finally opened his mouth & told his Sire the truth of why Sessh decided to cut him out of his life, was because his father had ignored him whenever he succeeded as a pup & didn't even show up to congratulate him & when Sessh finally realized that his Sire's only care was for if Sessh was to do something to embarass him,Kagome was so shocked to finally hear him tell his Sire what she so desperately wanted to hear...he decided he was leaving & asked her to join him & without waiting for her to answer him,he left her there..alone. I for one hope Kagome tells Sessh's Sire that when she 1st met him he appeared as if Sessh was the most important thing in his life & the Dad that she met tonight over dinner was a man who was very vocal in insulting his son over the smallest detail & he should forget about her ever applying to his company because the caring Dad that she'd met was obviously a ruse & as a girl who grew up without a father she now feels ashamed for falling for his act as a father who was concerned over his son's happiness because from the moment they arrived she witnessed him treating Sessh as anything but a son & then for him to tell her not to concern herself with the way that the man she loves is feeling & that she'd learn to ignore him soon.
I would love it if she said to him ' I no longer need to ask Sessh why he resents you, if your behavior this evening reflects your treatment of him since childhood, then I feel I've witnessed it myself' & I don't ever want to hear you complain about his treatment of you as you are obviously unaware that respect is something earned & if it's demanded of by somone who hasn't given it & from what I've seen you have no respect for Sessh,So how can you ask it from him. Alpha or not ???
Now, I must leave & find the man I love & if you can't understand that, I have nothing more to say.
Oh my gosh, could that have gone any worse? Poor Kagome. Stuck in the middle again. He didn't give her enough time to really come out of the shock she was in and he left her? Oh I know going home isn't going to be finished the way she had hoped it would. This surely wasn't fair for Kagome. She's been asking him to tell her why he doesn't get along with his father and he always closes the subject down and now he unloads everything and expects her not to be shocked by it all? This is not good. JEN
Ooooh! Oh man, how is Kagome gonna deal with this one? I think it was about time Sess said something. Please update soon. Can't wait to see what happens next.
Would you think me rude, if I were to request more? I understand you possess a life beyond writing so I am not terribly adverse to waiting. I just enjoy your character portrayals and their complex character development. I enjoy your unique plot line quite alot. Actually, I enjoy your writings in general; all of them. I hope to read more from you soon. But I'll wait as long as I need to. :)

fantastic. :D
You'd think he'd know Kagome enough to relize she has been stunned to a point of petrification.
And to think if he told her himself of his past with inupapa he would likely have a staunch supporter.
So how long before Kagome either yells at inupapa or runs out after Sesshomaru?
Thanks for writimg.
From beginning to current chapter, I have read non stop. It has taken me all day. I love it. I love the paceing. I love the spot on characterizations... it's just fantastic.
I am eager for the next chatper. but not impatient. :D
lara (Chapter 22) - Tue 10 May 2011
I love this story.Unfortunately for me,on 5/3 I went to the hospital for an outpt surgery & ended up there till 5/6/2011.I didn't have access to a laptop(or p.c.)so,I wasn't able to check out the sites or read my favorite stories but,I'm grateful I didn't miss much. This chapter was great & very interesting. It reminded me of life lessons learned in youth & its an eye opener,at a time, when some need constant reminders they'd entered the adult world.(I'd had a b-day on 5/1/2011 & this chapter reminded me how fast life & perspectives change as you age.) Yet some beings still believed as long as their social lives were going well then your entire life & future would fall into place & all was right in the real world.
In this chapter, the way other students' treated her, after they completed the 'Promise' (not K&S's group) but how childish they acted, while they were college students (using jealousy without realizing that they were jealous to take cheap shots & hurt others)
The 'Promise' seemed painful,(especially for her) with her being Miko & him youkai, (I {kind of} tried to visualize the 2 beings as 2 powers of as if they were 2 magnets, facing opposite sides that'd push away from each other,as she was the one that was being cocooned,it meant she had to hold her power still,to keep it from pushing, pulling or fighting it's instincts, while he enveloped her power with his own..similar to subduing it in away that isn't natural, which was what I figured was the cause of his Sire's fear.
Thinking of how Miko power can harm a youkai (while some stories it's said to be able to harm or heal a youkai, this story hasn't mentioned any info other than that it could harm),I thought (maybe) the reason Sessh kept telling his Sire how Kagome was very strong & powerful (Sessh's way of saying the confidence he felt towards Kagome & her power was the same confidence he held in himeslf & his power)perhaps it was his way of trying to tell his dad, she could handle it & as he & Kagome were powerful (what Sessh was saying to his Sire,by complimenting her & speaking of her strength & his need for her meant a lot,his Sire knew him his entire life & knew that no female ever had any effect on or any importance to him. This info from Sessh told his Sire alot about & he told Sessh himself that he always knew he'd surpass him in power. He even agreed that Sessh was the only Dai youkai to gain the trust & the love of a Miko.
For some reason I thought 'The Promise' would ease some of their simpler misunderstandings & help calm his inner inu by allowing it the added benefit of knowing, or moreso, in a way he'd be able to sense her emotions(not as intensely as when they are mated & they can sense each other at all times) ......I guess what I'm trying to say is I thought after they completed the ceremony for the 'Promise' the benefits ,for doing it now, were to help calm his inner inu & that one of the added benefits (since her own powers were being wrapped up in or encased by his) was : if or when they weren't together if for 1 reason or another if she was under duress (including?) possibly what or why so,he'd be able to feel what she was feeling while she felt it so he would not feel helpless if such was to happen & could come to her aid asap
Can she still use her Miko powers ? can he use them??
I'm just guessing here, but it sounds like Emily Dickinson is the subject of their project.
Now, about this story of yours... I was up ridiculously late last night trying to stop reading it! And I've spent most of the day reading it! Hmmmm, I really am enjoying it... Good work! You do, however, need a beta. I have the feeling that you write very fast and if you are looking over your own work, you are seeing what you expect to see and not what has actually been typed or not. That frequently happens to me when I look over my own work the first few times. It makes me crazy - but then I am anal retentive.
Please continue this......I love this witty dry-humored Sesshoumaru of yours and would love to see how this continues to hashout---and I must say, his 'dogging' her in the beginning was absolutely pricless!!! Love the story and keep it up! <3
Another great chapter. So she finally stands up for herself. It's about damn time! LOL! Thanks for the update lady. It was greatly appreciated.

Kamiki (Chapter 21) - Thu 21 Apr 2011
Bravo!
I was guessing until the very end of the chapter whether or not it (the "Promise" ceremony) would be successful. Would they be able to do it? Would Kagome or Sess die from it?? I had no idea! I loved it; perfect suspense and anticipation of the moment was achieved.
Thanks for (yet another) great story :)
I just loved how you explained the ceremony. Going through the whole thing was rather enchanting and definitely endearing. To see Sesshoumaru in such a vulnerable state of emotions is rare and you made it seem a plausible and realistic experience.
From the very beginning of his realisation that Kagome was the ONE who would be his mate in the future, you opened up a new but entirely believable aspect that happens when a youkai meet their soul mate, their life mate. Though this part of the commitment ceremony was abandoned for generations because if improperly done could result in death, especially with a human as a proposed mate, Sesshoumaru gave careful thought and consideration to this and I feel that because this bond has been successfully completed, it proves that they are meant to be life mates.
I was, however, saddened that Kagome cried and thought she had somehow failed Sesshoumaru. He may have come across alttle harsh but he was right, they did complete the bond together and no other youkai had ever attempted this bond with a miko.
This was an amazing chapter, Lady O. Positively amazing. Great job! Will Father be pleased? What of the Youkai Council?, if they have such.
Until the next update, my friend....JEN
Oh how sweet. The addition to the tatoo, I mean. I was thinking that with Sesshoumaru's jealous tendencies and outbursts over Kagome with another guy, that he was going to screw up the whole evening and that, would have been quite a shame. But after his little tantrum and Kagome's way of showing him why she was so late without the arguement, I kept saying, Awww, how cute.
I could actually feel his temper fall into this tender, sweet awe at what she must had taken great thought and courage to gift him with. I really liked the description of how the flower was nestled within the cresent moon and the vines wove themselves around it as if tenderly holding it. So beautiful... JEN
lara (Chapter 21) - Tue 19 Apr 2011
AAAAAAAAAAhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!! he could see the mark beginning to form already, right????? So it did work, right?????
I'll be agonizing untill you update this story again & I can find out if it took or not.
I'm still dying to know if this means he tied her lifespan to his..
Wow! That was a seriously intense process just for a Promise to maybe mate later. That was a great chapter!
A drunk Sess would be a sight to see indeed. Seems that indifferent shell is seriously cracking.
