Oh dear...the big dog just doesn't learn, does he? It was maybe stupid of Kagome to try the dream stunt, but when Sess does find her, I hope he's not going to...get all attacky or insistently seductive on her. Something like that..I don't know, he's ben enough of a jerk in this story, and forcing her to finish what they started when he knows it would mean that she'd have to come back to him before she's qite ready to..it would diminish my respect for him even further. He's not just being irrational about the whole "if-when" thing, he's being downright chauvinistic and selfish. I'd hoped that he'd get some sense, but the previous chapter was such a disappointment. While I love Kagome and Sess together, I just don't see them working out f he picks up on every little detail and turns it into a giant fitfest, and refuses to acknowledge that he may be at faut just as much - if not more - as Kagome. It would be degrading to liv in a relationship like that, where you need to walk out for weeks everytime your guy refuses to see sense and behaves like a toddler on steroids. At this point, his arrogant isn't cute or charming or funny anymore. It's hurtful and harmful and very, very degrading.

I honestly thought that this time away from Kagome would have made Sesshoumaru reassess what he was asking of her was wrong and purely selfish. She reacted the only way she thought would make him think without him trying to sway her into doing what he wants.

 I'm wondering what it's going to take to get Sessh to finally understand that Kagome just mistakenly used the wrong word, 'if', and that she was only trying to make it clear that their decision when to have children is only their right and no one elses. One would think at his age and with his intellect, he would have known what she was trying to say. Whether his inner inu took offense or not, the rational, humaniod form of Sesshoumaru is supposed to be dominate and intelligent. He should be able to put this disagreement in the proper perspective and talk like a grown adult with Kagome. His unwillingness to cooperate in discusssion of this importance only shows me that if they don't (mainly Sesshoumaru) learn to talk things out, they won't have a future together because the basis of all relationships, especially a mating, requires communication and a willingness to listen and understand each other.

I've missed you greatly, dear one, it's been too long. I, too, have been having RL stress to deal with and is leaving me with little to no time for the internet. I do hope and pray that all is well with you and the family. You're always on my mind, and in my prayers.   JEN

I'm afraid my sympathies lay with Sesshoumaru.  I think Kagome is carrying things too far.  She did raise doubt of her trust in him.  Also, she should not have said the word 'if' when it came to children.  Now she's throwing everything on him as though it's all his fault.  No one is perfect and by now she should have known him well enough to have worded her response to his father differently.  Lke he said, they way you say things are very important.  Sometimes more so in a different culture.

Oh man....I thought they were going to work it out too. I guess they still need some time apart. I hope Kags can see what he meant and what is going on. There's a whole other instinct involved here and she promised to be with both in a sense. Hopefully she won't lose sight of that. Thank you for the update Lovely One! I trulu appreciate it. Wow! 7 days...I have to give it to her because I know that can be hard to ignore. I hope Sess and kags can work it out. It seemed to be a true misunderstanding and Sess kinda jumped the gun. He doesn't realize that yeat.

Wow...feels good to read an update after so long! Great chapter, I really liked the new dilemma you've presented in front of them, because this will decide their future dynamic as a couple. In my humbe opinion though - and I just HAD to say it XD - Kagome's an idiot if she lets him sleep with her without protection....and if Sess keeps badgering her to "prove that she wants his kid"...he isn't half the man I thought you'd built him up to be.

The title of this chappie was exactly right. There is a huge line between requests and conditions...and maybe I'm just too much of a feminist, but in my opinion, what a woman wants to do with her body is HER own buiness and nobody else's, and no one has any right to ask her to "prove it." The asking in itself implies a huge lack of trust and insecurity, when she's already explained why she used the word "if" and also aserted that she DOES want his kids, but the when and how many is up for later discussion.  

I guess what ticked me off with Sess in this chappie was that he loses it and throws hissy fits if he so much as IMAGINES that Kag might not fully trust him or is doubting something he said or doubts his ability to do something...but he refuses to grant her the same courtesy of trusting HER words and intentions. Not to mention he's asserting rights over her body that he doesn't have, no matter how much he'd like to think otherwise. If I were her, I'd get up and walk out and leave him to come to his senses, inu instincts, or no inu instincts. 

^_^ But I've got faith in you...you're one of the rare authors who don't let Kagome take crap from Sesshoumaru in any form, so I'm eager to read what comes next...and in just how many ways she's going to hand his chauvinistic, egoistic, unreasonable arse to him! :D  

oh my, you just can't imagine how estatic I was to find you had updated!!! This means that you're well. This makes me sooo happy!!! I've been overly concerned, not worried because I understood the circumstances behind your leave of abstence, but to just know you're ok...hap-py me!

You know, when Sesshoumaru and InuPapa do anything family oriented, it always ends in trouble. If Kaoru would have just thought alittle more on his 'request', giving them a year to conceive is really pushing it. They did the Promise Ceremony because they're both still in college and wished to finish their schooling. That was the whole purpose really, they weren't ready to be married, let alone have children. Kaoru, for all his good intentions, just keeps starting arguements between Kagome and Sesshoumaru that are so very unwelcomed. For all his business and ruling sense, he sure has no intelligence where family is concerned. He needs to stop trying to 'fix' his mistakes of the past and remember how he run his kingdom and it's people with good common sense. Prevent war, don't start one and with Sesshoumaru, it's always a war waiting in the wings.

And again, I feel sad for Kagome. Either she doesn't speak her mind or she does and doesn't speak wisely. The word 'if' was NOT a good word to use in a sentense like that. Even I would have questioned it, but then again, having been with her for so long, one should know the way she meant what she said.

Oh, and hey, don't you all just hate it when someone says to 'prove it' to you? My comeback is if you really love me, I wouldn't have to 'prove' anything to you. That was such a childish trick he used on her. That honestly proves nothing. In this day and age, she can go to the drugstore and buy the morning after pill. No worries! So case closed. She doesn't even need a doctors script either.

As I have said before, you are one of a few who knows just how to write Sesshoumaru and this chapter was Sesshoumaru in all his arrogant glory!!!
