Perhaps I'm just lazy, but I kind of know the terms for the clothing characters are wearing in InuYasha from other fanfics. You got your kimono for ceremonial dress, yukata which is the casual form of the kimono, but when we get to what the males are wearing I know it's a thing that starts with h- I don't know how to spell it and since I'm caught up in what I'm writing I just decide to not describe the clothing at all, and by the time I'm done I completely forget to do the research even though I was meaning to.

Does anyone have a compiled list (or a cheat sheet) of the traditional Japanese clothing of the feudal era?

Aura Depths made this whole Glossary some years ago, that'd probably be a good place to start.
