Been waiting for your update for so long. I've been following this story since you started it in fanfiction.net. Hope all is well. 

I can't tell you how relieved I was to see there were some more chapters of this work, I had to hop quite a few sites.

I love the atmosphere you've built, I've become absolutely engrossed in it. From the details of court life to the nuances of what entails in everyday life. Including every new character you've introduced, which I normally don't enjoy finding it distracting and deterring from the base cast. But you've fleshed each one out and made them feel real and absolutely compelling. I can't imagine the story without Kotono, she's one of my favorite parts, her lines and her personality are fantastic.   

And the way you've shaken up everyone's roles as well for the base cast, you have me nearly on the edge of my seat to see where you pan this out. To see how everything connects, but please don't feel any pressure or obligation. 

I do note and respect that you haven't written in this possibly in two years, and while I'm sad for that. I want to thank you for dedicating your time and your energy into writing and building so much of the story already. This was a gift to read, and the character portrayal, the universe, the idea and plot; we're beautiful. 

May you be ever successful in future endevors. 

Honestly.

I read this one of out curiousity, after seeing LordMaru's image of 'dark Kagome' for your Post Lux Tenebras ficlet.

I'm in one of two minds about this one. 

Firstly I'm not entirely comfortable with Kagome being in the situation of having to curry Sesshoumaru's favour, even though I understand the neccessity.  Secondly, I'm disappointed by the lack of background for Kagome, before she came to the shiro.  I know she was an orphan and adopted, but it's very vague as to when she discovered her abilities, why she was rejected by guys aka deemed unmarriable, and who taught her to read.

Being literate wasn't a common thing for women, especially peasants, which Kagome essentially is in comparison to Sesshy's youkai court.

I think those little details would have added a richness to the story that would have made me more interested in Kagome's interactions with the youkai like Kotono.

I think she accurately wades through things with the grace of a woman in gumboots, but somehow her interactions with the youkai seem a little insincere, a bit bratty (aka she's easily offended and rightfully so), and a little contrived.  I can see the innocence she has, and the ignorance, but I think it's not completely convincing for me, because it doesn't touch on the most obvious facet of Kagome's inexperience.

She should know, being who she is, next to nothing about youkai, especially inside a youkai court.

The story touches too lightly for my liking on social mores, status, and customs.

Although I suppose that is an unfair expectation.

This is a piece of fanfiction not a historic novel.

I think I would have found Kagome's naivety more endearing if she had displayed more wonder, I suppose over things like Sesshy's personal library, or his gardens, or even the luxury he lives in with having the equivalent of his own palace.  The lack of comparison she makes between what she gains to what she has is what is lacking for me.  It's like Kagome doesn't see the difference or even acknowledge it.  Like for example, being able to have a hot bath, a simple luxury to bathing in a cold stream.  Or having a servant bring her food, to having to gather and or hunt it herself.  Or having access to a youkai library, versus a human village having few or perhaps next to no library or books for learning.

The lack of Kagome showing a preference or even little observations about the difference in her life before and after being proclaimed the twelfth concubine, even in little ways, is disappointing.

For me there's too much of a disconnect between her being human, coming from a human village, to being groomed to be the only human concubine of a youkai lord.

She's essentially breaking new ground in both human and youkai society.

But the ripples aren't touched on in the fic itself.

It is a good piece of work.

I know.  I'm still reading, but something in it just doesn't quite gell right for me, maybe that will change in further chapters.

Can i say omg!! Wow this story is fantastic. I love how you are writing the plot the charters everything i love i dont think there was a chapter i didnt love.. To how kagome is over coming many of her insecurities and how she thrived in the place she is nowm. If there w r re more of the 3somes of them would ve amaizing because thwy all have come to lean on each other with out relizing it and its amazing!! If you do update please send me a email i cant wait to see what happenes next!

I can't begin to describe how absolutely satisfied I am that you made the threesome with Kotono as the new partner. I was worried that it would be with a character I did not paticularly care for, like a Male. I see it happen a lot in most threesomes). The fact that it was someone I liked and it wasn't the norm makes me sooooooo happy as a Reader. I can't wait for the rest! 

I found this story when it was suggested in a forum discussion, and throught I would give it a read. I will give you my honest opinion of this stroy. 

The first few chapters I was hooked. It was addicting. The intense emotions and anticipation for Kagome and Sesshomaru were amazing. The conversations between Sesshy and Kags was romantic and got my heart fluttering. -Their constant flirting as well as playful banter was intiruging and fully entertaining. I loved Kagomes spirit, and I loved Sesshomarus intense curiousity. 

And then came several chapters of her training. These details are crucial to the stroy, no doubt. But I found myself getting bored. The story, though enticing, suddenly became more about controling her power than the social structure between herself and Sesshomaru. I found myself skimming several of these chapters, taking note of all the mundane details that did not move the story along, nor added depth to the story. And though her training in pleasure as well as contol was needed, I could not help but think this section of hte story could be written into one, maybe two chapters at most. But then, finally, we got to the chapter where sesshy and Kagome finally got together. -That was wonderful, powerful, and very alluring. 

Then I have to say, I became a little put off. The story seemed to shift drastically. It becasme a stroy more about Kagome and Kotono than Kagome and Sesshomaru. I LOVE Kotono. She is a well written, well thought out OC. But I did find myself frustrated that chapter after chapter after chapter was about Kags and Kotono's relationship, rather than Sesshy and Kags relationship. -I m also a bit shocked jealousy has not been addressed. -Perhaps not from KAgome or Kotono, but one of the other cocubines. -After all, Sesshomaru has spent several months with his two favorites, I would htink it would take only a few weeks of this obvious favoritisim, to anger the other females, and yet there is not a isngle mention of the other women. Its almost as if they dropped off the world. Granted you have a HUGE cast, andd thus keeping up/writing in all these characters is a chore.However, none the less, they were created. With their lack of involvment, and lack of emotional involvment takes away the dynamic between Kagome, Sesshomaru and Kotono. 

Please forgive me if I have come off harshly. As a writer, there is nothing better than a review. As a writer, there is nothing wrost that a bad review. This, Is NOT a bad review. Please allow me to make this perfectly clear: I never.... NEVER critique work. NEVER. The fact that I am with this stroy, speaks volumes as to the level in which I enjoy this story. 

Over all, I love this story VERY much. I love the world which you created. I love hte idea of the 12 concubines, and I very much love where the story is going. -The social structure between Kagome and Kotono, though a bit extended for my taste, is wonderfulyl written. I do look forward to the upcoming chapters: the appraoching action is highly anticipated

Holy cow, I had no idea you had updated.  Here I am just browsing through my favorite stories and lo and behold yours pops right up.  Anywho thanks for this chapter and I totally get that you have a life, I'm in my last semester of my Masters and have had to cut off most of my reading of anything (fanfiction, novels, etc.)  My favorite scene in this chapter has got to be when Kagome was trying not to oogle Kotono.  I literally laughed out loud.  I don't want her to get stolen!  Things were just starting to calm down and now this is about to happen.  My heart did a little pitter patter when Sesshoumaru did his gentle love making with the girls, I wonder if that's going to be on the menu from now on.

Thanks for this chapter and I hope everything is going swimmingly in the real world.
