Chapter I: Die Romantic

"Kagome, this is your new school, Junika High. Of course it's not a public school, but the doctor think the change is good. I hope everything goes well..." Sai whispered to the young woman who stood next to her. Glancing, she saw the solemn look on her face, wondering what she was thinking.

Kagome just stared unsurprizingly at the school. Junika High School, she heard about this prodigious school from the people back at the center when she was a kid. It's the type of school for those who are either smart or rich, she was neither. Why did her guardian enter her in such a riduculous school? Was it bad enough she lost the only person she ever loved to an accident. Was this some type of immoral punishment for not listening to her mother, who was a druggie. Maybe it was guilt driven within her soul, knowing the years of abuse that been happening. She didn't know, but she refuse to think any differently.

Sai let out a low groan, knowing Kagome didn't like it. She thought it was for the best, since the girl didn't have anywhere else to go. All the other schools within the area were full and this was the best one she could think of. Kagome isn't private school material, why send her here. She heard her inner thought asked, mentally smacking herself. She only wanted what was best for Kagome, nothing more or nothing less. After agreeing with the adoption agency to take her in, she wanted to give her everything she didn't have.

A loving home, a caring foster mother, just love. Then she entered high school and found something even better. A guy that she loved until death. She could remember that day easily, recieving a call from the police identifying his body. He was killed by a head on collusion with an 18-wheeler on the highway. He couldn't make it, so he was killed. The hardest part was telling Kagome. How would she take it, her love just died.

"Sai...are you still alive?" Kagome called her, bring her back to the world of reality once more.

Blinking a couple of times, when did she start calling her? Faintly smiling, she nodded feeling embarassed. "Sorry, I just had a relapse moment. Need something?"

Knitting her brows together, she crossed her arms staring longingly at the school. "Can we go in and take a tour? Since I'm going to this school, I should be able to get a tour earily right?"

Sai shrugged her shoulders, remembering taking with the Dean. He did say it was alright to enter the school, it was still open due to summer sports. "I guess, want to go in and look around. Might as well get use to it."

Hitting her shoe on the ground, she only nodded as black hair bounced with her movement. Taking her first step, she move casually up the stair, Sai behind her. She really didn't want to take a tour, but it was getting boring just standing there not talking. She needed something to preoccupy her mind from the thoughts of 'him'. Her eyes lowered when she thought about it. Three years, since he passed away leaving her to rot. Dying purposely, crushing her heart and soul. She loved him, didn't he understand that. Yet in the end, love was what made her the way she was. Cold hearted, depressed, angry and other things she couldn't think of.

Touching the last step, she stop seeing the school up close. Her eyes moved along the building, noticing how tall it was. So old, but it held so much school pride behind the dirty brick walls. Now she was going to be part of it, a lonely girl who didn't care about anything or anyone. Moving once again, enough with the sightseeing. Entering the school, she stopped in the long, hollow hall. T

aking a look around, it was surrounded by black, red and white lockers neatly set in rows of twelve. The multi-colored tiled floor was waxed to perfection, awaiting for the steady feet of the students in a few months. The sunlight reflected on the floor and hit the lockers showing how clean everything was. Sai stood behind her in awe, never seeing a school like this. Her high school was a piece of trash compare to this. Of course public school didn't have that much money to afford sumptous things.

"What now?" Sai asked, her eyes roam around the campus, taking inventory of everything.

Kagome threw a glance over her shoulder, replying. "I'm going to take a look around alone. Why don't you just stay here and I'll come back to you."

Accepting the suggestion, all she done was nod sending Kagome off by herself. Leaving Sai by herself, she adventured herself down the empty hall. Everything seem so rich and uncomfortable, she thought as she ran her fingers along the doors of the locker. Her old school wasn't compare to this. Three years in Kino High School and you were the coolest person there was.

Since it was a public school, your were either one of the cool kids or a nerd. Gangs and wannabes tried to rule what seem like a hell hole. Kagome and some of her friends were part of the 'cool' crowd. Doing everything a typical teenager does. Drugs, party till the crack of dawn, have sex behind the gym bleachers, play hookie and other random stuff. It wasn't hardcore like some thought, it was just delinqency. Coming to the end of the hall, she turned the corner.

Similar to the first, there were only a few lockers and a stand full of trophies. Also hearing about the school's athletics rank, she knew this wasn't a place for games. Quicken her pace, she began to become bored and just wanted to zoom through everything. She turned the next corner she came to a sharp stop. Her eyes widen as she stared at the young man standing there at the end of the hall. Amber eyes were luminous as they gaze deeply into her. Confused, she felt her body trembled with fear. It's impossible, she thought wondering who he was. How come he look just like 'him'?

"Who are you and why do you look like him?" she heard herself asked, her voice gave out at the end.

Amber eyes looked at her confusingly, wondering who this girl was. "What the hell are you talking about?"

Kagome opened her mouth, but it clamped up as she shook her head. It couldn't be possible, he was suppose to be dead. Throwing her hands to the sides of her head, she could hear the screams return as the Zone took over. Clenching the side of her head tightly, what was going on, why could she hear the screams again. "Go away, your dead." she whispered viciously, fighting it.

Watching her, he didn't know what was going on. It was like she was having an anxiety attack or something. Not knowing what to do, he stayed where he was. "What are you doing?"

Kagome growled lowly, looking at him with deadly eyes. Her beautiful shade of brown congealed over as she hissed. "You're suppose to be dead! Who the hell are you and why do you look like Inuyasha?"

Stuck by that name, his brow rose in questioning. How does she know his deceased younger brother's name? "Who the hell are you and how do you know my brother's name?"

Her vision began to blur as the screams got louder. Dropping to the floor, her knees grew weak due to the amount of violent trembles that went through her. Leaning over, she felt the foreign tears burn her eyes as she mumbled over and over. 'He's dead, why is he hear?' Obviously she didn't hear him as her body finally gave out from the torment. She couldn't take it anymore, the screams brought her back to the only place that she feared the most...the Zone.

Author Note: That was a very exciting introduction. Hopefully it becomes better after this. Wow, very interesting to see this side of Kagome. Then her weird way she acted with Sesshomaru, wonder how things are going to turn out with them. Don't worry, all stories should have a happy ending....well not all.
