Chapter 1

Must Love Inus

Chapter 1

Kagome's POV= normal

Sesshoumaru's POV= bold

Authors note: I kind of tweaked the first 2 chapters up a little. Changed bits and pieces tell me what you think.

Btw Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru are not brothers in this story.

"Here Kags, take a look at this, I think you'll like this guy. His name's Kin. He's hot, smart, and financially secure. Plus, he has a nice ass." Sango said. "He's also just divorced. Phone number's on the back."

I sighed and took a picture. He did look kind of hot. But looks weren't everything. I learned that the hard way. I walked to the fridge and put the picture next to all the other pictures my friends and family gave me.

"Kagome, my sweet, you have to move on. There's life after divorce," my mother proclaimed, not that he's ever been in a divorce.

"Mom's right, you know?" piped up Souta as he petted Mother Teresa. "The longer you wait the harder it'll be."

Wishing they hadn't said that, I knew it was true. I mean as much as it was painful to say, Inuyasha and I were never really happy with each other. So why the big deal? That question, I don't think, will ever be solved.

My family, noticing my mental struggles at this moment, decided to leave. One by one the left the kitchen and headed towards the door.

"Call me when you need any thing Kags!" Sango gave me a big hug and walked out the door with her husband, Miroku.

I watched them leave and closed the door after them and sighed of relief. Sure my family was only trying to help, but god do they get on my nerves sometimes. I walked back to the kitchen and picked up the newspaper on the table, absentmindedly flipping to the personals.

HONEST, HOPELESSLY ROMANTIC, old-fashioned gentleman seeks lady friend who enjoys elegant dining, dancing and the slow bloom of affection. WM, n/s, young 50s, widower, loves dogs, children and long meandering bicycle rides.

The ad jumped out at me the first time I looked. There wasn't much competition. I circled the ad in red pen, and then tore it out or the paper. I carried it over to my computer and typed a response quickly, before I could change my mind:

Dear Sir:

You sound too good to be true, but perhaps we could have a cup of coffee together anyways. I am a WF, divorced, mid 30, who loves dogs and children, but doesn't happen to have either.

-Cautiously Optimistic

I mailed my letter to the County Connections offices, which would forward it. I started walking back home and waited for a reply.
