Summary: Kagome seeks out Inuyasha when she comes to see that he was having sex with Kikyo. She runs away and bumps into Rin who was about to be hurt by a demon, because Jaken had lost her. Kagome being the nice girl she is saves Rin, but in the process falls unconscious. Sesshomaru finds them and Rin insists to take her back to the castle. Sesshomaru agrees. When Kagome wakes up events take place, but there seems to be a bond forming between Sesshomaru and Kagome. Will the taiyoaki admit his feelings towards Kagome? Will she be able to melt the ice around his heart? The most important question on both their minds... Do they love each other?

It was just another day in the feudal era. Surprisingly no trouble had brewed for the past few days and it made the gang worry. Why hadn't Naraku attacked? What was stopping him? What was his plan? Or even the most important question... were there any jewel shards left? None of them had seen a shard in days, with the exception of the ones Kagome had. No demon had come to take them. It seemed, as the jewel never even existed...

"Kagome do you want to take a bath?" asked Sango blowing a piece of her hair that had fallen out of it's cloth binding

"Of course Sango... let's go." Cheered Kagome grabbing her bathing supplies

Miroku came running up to the girls with a perverted grin plastered all over his face. "May I assist you ladies? I may be help when scrubbing your backs."

"Pervert!" shouted Sango slapping the monk on his right cheek knocking him unconscious onto the ground

Shippo sighed and shook his head. Sango on the other hand stood and started mumbling 60 miles per hour about monks and how they couldn't keep their hands to themselves. Kagome sighed. This was just another day in the feudal era. The monk had yet to know how to get Sango to marry him if he kept being the pervert he was. The only one missing was the Hanyou, Inuyasha.

Kagome looked to the tree he was usually in, but found it strange that he wasn't there. He's probably gone to fight something since we haven't had any problems lately. Inuyasha if you only knew that I love you. Well that'll have to wait until we defeat Naraku ne? Kagome nodded her head and looked over to Sango who was looking over at Kagome. "Are you okay?" asked the taiji

"Have you noticed how Inuyasha isn't there?" asked Kagome out of curiosity to see if she was the only one who noticed

Sango's face became frozen with guilt. Kagome hadn't failed to notice this, but could wonder only why the guilt had appeared all of a sudden. Was it something that she had said? Well there was no use trying to think about it, when she could just ask. "Sango what aren't you telling me?" asked Kagome with seriousness in her voice

Sango looked over to Kagome as a flashback to the event came back to her. She was hoping that Kagome would never ask the question, but it was bound to come. How am I going to tell her? Kagome I don't want to hurt you. Someone tell me how am I supposed to tell her without breaking her heart?

FLASHBACK

Inuyasha was getting up about to exit the hut when a hand on his shoulder caused him to turn around and see the cause of the disturbance. Inuyasha turned around and came face to face to Sango. Confusion and anger was written all over his face and he decided to figure out why she was awake and stopping him from leaving and doing what he had to do. "Inuyasha where are you going? You're not... are you?"

"Sango I am taking Kikyo as a mate. I promised her that I'd always be with her and I just realized that I do love her." He sighed and whispered so no one else would wake

"That would break Kagome's heart you know. Kagome then again told me that she only wishes for your happiness even if it causes her death. Kikyo on the other hand wouldn't really care." She revealed

"I love Kikyo. I know it." Inuyasha persisted

"Just promise me that you will think about this for a few days and then make your decision. Please? It would mean a lot to me and I won't tell Kagome about this." Pleaded Sango

Inuyasha thought for a moment before coming to a conclusion. "Alright. Only if you don't tell Kagome. I'll think about it for a few days and if I decide that I still want to be with Kikyo I'll make her my mate."

Sango nodded and headed to the bed. Inuyasha on the other hand went outside to the tree right outside the hut and jumped in. He looked down at the hut. He knew that even though Kagome loves him, doesn't mean that he loves her back. At one time he might have, but he truly loves Kikyo and nothing will stop him from making Kikyo his mate for life.

END FLASHBACK

"Sango? Sango? SANGO! HELLO ARE YOU THERE?" yelled Kagome

Sango huhed and looked over at Kagome who was frantically waving her hands in front of her face. There was no way that she could go back on the word that she gave Inuyasha no matter how much she wanted to tell Kagome. There was just no way that she could. "Sango are you going to tell me?"

"It was nothing I just had a thought about if Miroku would try to peak at us in the springs." Substituted Sango

"Oh. Okay let's go!" cheered Kagome once again as she headed down to the spring with Sango close behind

It was a long walk, but the two made it. Stripping down all their clothes, both of them wrapped a towel around their bodies and slipped into the hot water. It was so comforting that both of the girls sighed in relief. It felt good to be away from everything. To come and relax in the hot spring with a friend. "Sango?" whispered Kagome breaking Sango's concentration

"Yes Kagome?" asked Sango

"You know you are the best "girl" friend I have. I guess Inuyasha would be my best "guy" friend." Smiled Kagome, "Just wanted to let you know."

Kagome why are you doing this to me? I want to tell you, but I can't. I want to tell you so bad. Please Kagome don't hate me for not telling you. Sango got out of the water and dried herself. After changing she asked if Kagome wanted to come, but she declined. Kagome's reasoning was that she just wanted to enjoy this. Sango sighed and headed back, but not before telling her not to stay out too late.

After a long bath Kagome got out of the water herself too. She dried her body and clothed it so she wouldn't catch a cold. She was about to pass the Goshinboku when she head noises coming nearby. Kagome looked over the bush and her eyes grew twice as large. "Inuyasha deeper. Faster. Hurry!"

"Of course my dear Kikyo."

Inuyasha stood over Kikyo going deeper. Their moans could be heard through out the area. Finally Inuyasha couldn't handle it anymore and let his seed go into the death priestess. Kagome on the other hand stood shocked. She could almost hear her heart breaking into many tiny pieces. Just that little act had caused her to succumb to pain she wished she would never have to feel. "No! Inuyasha how could you?"

Kagome felt tears run down her face. She got up and ran towards Kaede's hut. She ran faster and faster as the pressure of the wind went against her face. Inuyasha how could you? I thought that... that maybe you had given up with Kikyo. I love you, but you betrayed me. How could you? Why Inuyasha why? I though that you cared a little for me too. Even if it was just a little bit. Kagome ran faster hoping to get away from the tree. She could hear the cries of the hanyou telling her to wait and let him explain, but Kagome wouldn't stop.

Kagome ran into the hut and fell to the floor. Sango came running over, but so did the hanyou. He burst through the door and glared at Sango. "I THOUGHT YOU SAID YOU WOULDN'T TELL HER SANGO. I THOUGHT WE HAD AN AGREEMENT." Shouted Inuyasha

Kagome seized her crying and looked up. "What?"

"MIROKU YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO MAKE SURE SHE WOULDN'T LEAVE. OH AND SHIPPO YOU WERE SUPPOSE TO KEEP HER BUSY FOR THE AGREEMENT THAT I WOULDN'T HURT YOU." (A/N: Yes Shippo sadly betrayed her!)

"What agreement? Inuyasha? Shippo? Miroku? Sango? What is he talking about?"

All of them sighed as the hanyou calmed down a little more. "Kagome..."

"No don't tell me, he promised you something so that you wouldn't tell me what was going on? You think this is funny? Does playing with my heart make you happy? Sango why? You were my best "girl" friend. Inuyasha you were my best "guy" friend. Shippo you were like a son to me. Miroku you were... It doesn't matter. I don't want to talk anymore."

Kagome bowed her head and went into another room. The other four looked shocked as to what had happened. They had hurt someone very dear to them. They hadn't meant to... or did they? "Did she say I was her best "guy" friend?" asked Inuyasha

Sango nodded. "She told me during the bath. I... I guess she keeps us more dear then we thought and we... we threw it away." Revealed Sango

"Maybe I should go talk to her. She was the one who saw me and Kikyo." Reasoned Inuyasha

"No Inuyasha ye must leave yer for ye night. She needs yer to give her some privacy." Said Kaede coming out of another room

Everyone agreed and decided to give her the night. They would catch their own dinner and make it. It took a while, and they finally did and then fell asleep while the miko still lay in the other room. ,i>How could you all betray me? I THOUGHT WE WERE FRIENDS... That's the final draw. I'm leaving so they won't have me to... to hurt anymore. Inuyasha never did like me... Her mind was set. Kagome packed up her things and headed out of the hut.

She left nothing. Not a note, not an ornament nothing. Everything she had went with her. She wasn't planning on coming back. Not now not never hopefully. Kagome looked back at the hut once more. "Good bye..."

Kagome walked of towards the well. Little did she know that there was trouble looming around the corner.

Rin was just running around in the forest. Once again she had escaped Jaken. He wouldn't stop bothering her about how she always slowed Sesshomaru down or how she's a filthy human. It didn't bother her, but she decided to take a break. Sesshomaru always protected her so she had nothing to fear right?

After a while it started to get dark. Rin stopped and looked around. All she could hear were the noises of the owls, and the howls of the wolves. Sesshomaru – sama? Jaken? I'm lost...

All of a sudden a demon came out of the bushes and looked hungrily at Rin. "I hear human girls taste great when mixed with fear."

"Don't eat me..."

"Come on guys lets have an appetizer."

More demons came out of the bushes and Rin did the only she could think of in the tight situation that she was in at the moment. "SESSHOMARU – SAMA. JAKEN! HELP!!!"

Kagome had heard a scream and ran towards the noise. Grabbing her arrow on the way she purified some demon and ran to the little girl. When she reached back for some more arrows she noticed that she had none. Kagome panicked. She grabbed Rin and hugged her close as the demons hit her trying to get Rin.

Sesshomaru had heard Rin and ran towards the girl. He came to where she was to see Rin being protected by his brother's wench. He slayed the demons with one whip of his whip. He walked over to Rin and picked her up. The other girl on the other hand just fell into a state of unconsciousness. "Sesshomaru – sama please let's take her back to the castle. She save this Rin's life."

Rin made her eyes fill with tears. Sesshomaru sighed. He hated to see Rin sad. It made him angry to know he caused it. "I, Sesshomaru, have honor. I am in debt to her. Fine Rin, but only till she's better."

They carried Kagome back to the castle. Rin rode with Jaken on Ah un while he carried the girl. Jaken was going to get in trouble when they got back for first of all losing Rin and then seconds putting Sesshomaru in debt of repaying the girl who saved his ward.
