A Debt to be Paid Chap ?

Description:
READ RIGHT TO LEFT.
Kagome stood before the daiyoukai. She was breaking and they both knew it. She tried to hide the tears that started to fill her pained sapphire eyes beneath her thick black bangs yet they began to fall. She raised her left hand to brush them away.
"I just want to be loved. I'm so tired of meaning nothing." The girl's shoulders shivered as she quietly sobbed. "You're no better than the rest of them. You're using me for your own gain just like all the other demons want to."
The miko cried softly, her tears dripping steadily. The demon Lord did not respond. His silence hurt her more than she wanted to admit. He didn't deny what she said. He didn't even try to lie. But then again, wasn't his blunt honesty something she admired? Kagome's sobs continued to fill the clearing.
"Why... Why can't I be happy? Why is everything so difficult? Everything I want is always impossible for me to have. I lost InuYasha and my dream to be with him and now it seems like I have to give up my one true wish - to be loved."
The girl began to cry harder. Still Sesshoumaru did not say anything. His lack of response fueled her angry sorrow.
"I want to matter to someone! Is that so wrong?" She wailed.
Sesshoumaru peered down at the little miko as she broke. He felt her pain through their link and felt something odd uncurl in his chest. He felt uncomfortable seeing the miko cry and hurt as she was at that moment. He felt a compulsion to comfort her. The oddity of that impulse irritated and confused the demon Lord. He tried to ignore the random desire to comfort the girl but to no avail. Her cries seemed to cause him physical pain.
His golden eyes flashing, Sesshoumaru did something he never had in his several centuries. Reaching out, he grabbed the miko and pulled her into him, his claw resting on top of her small head, his long digits cupping her cranium tenderly.
He did not think about what he was doing. He did not want to acknowledge the spurt of compassion he was experiencing. His eyes trained forward, he stared at the forest across from him with a flinty glare. He heard the miko in his hold tremble and whisper his name.
His eyes slid closed as he inhaled her sweet scent. Just this once he would allow himself to be soft. Never again. It was a one time thing. He chanted to himself mentally.
Before he knew it, his lips were moving and in his deep, timbre voice he murmured, "Cease your tears, miko. Not only are they annoying but unnecessary. If you did not matter, why then do I continue to put up with you?"

So this is a sketch I did for a chapter I'm writing for my fan fiction 'A Debt to be Paid'. Excuse how crappy it is - its really sketchy and dirty I'm currently working on the cleaned up version :).
