“Kill him? They're not going to be the last, my mate. But fear nothing. I will always hold my sword between you, him, and danger. Nothing will hurt you so long as I draw breath.” He touched her cheek, still wet from the tears. “Humans especially will try to hurt him, you need to come to understand this.”
Kagome nodded. Shirosen had stopped crying a while ago, but she couldn't let him go. Had a youkai attacked she could have purified them, but instead a small army of humans had tried to kill her child, three samurai and several villagers. She wasn't as afraid though, because as she looked up at into Sesshoumaru's eyes she found reassurance. The world may be darker than she had thought, but he would always be there to protect her and their children.
