I know the dimensions may be similar to a banner's but it was not my intention for it to be one; I just simply made the dimensions as is to put focus on the eye.

And you are right, the hair is quite weak, but does not retract from the eye (which is your main focal point).
I guess what weakens it is the blue streaks and I think if you take those out, it'll look even better or make them a little more subtle :}.
Anyways, you did a wonderful job overall :}
