Beware Greeks Bearing Gifts
Blinking, Kagome looked from the flower currently pressed very intimately in her face to the little girl holding it out to her. She took it after a moment’s hesitation, smelling the flower before tucking it into her hair. She smiled at the little girl, turning to move away.
“Wait, pretty lady!” Rin called to the older girl. She snagged her hand, pulling her in the opposite direction. Her big smile and easy demeanor lessened her hesitation, slightly, but she was still on edge.
“Rin, I have to go now” Kagome whined quietly, “Inuyasha is expecting me”
“Silly lady, it will only be a moment. I just would like to show you from where I got the flower!” Rin grinned widely, tugging Kagome after her faster.
“Don’t you want to see from where I got the flowers? We can play in the field. Just for a little while?” Rin turned pleading eyes towards Kagome, who sighed quietly but allowed herself to be pulled along.
“Well, I suppose a few minutes wouldn’t hurt anyone. And I’ve always wanted to know how to make a flower crown…” Kagome smiled, following the girl into the rolling fields of flowers that existed just beyond the sight of the well. Kagome giggled at the antics of the little girl, chasing her around the fields like she was a little girl again. As the time passed, the actions of the two girls changed from rolling down the hills to playing in the flowers and making crown after crown after crown. Before she knew it, time had passed and Kagome caught herself nodding off next to Rin, her body curled into Rins.
Before she knew what was happening, she was rudely awakened by none other than Sesshomaru.
She peeked up, gulping. “Hello, Sesshomaru”
“What is it you are doing?”
She laughed nervously, looking at the still sleeping Rin.
