Chapter 1

She has been running for awhile, losing her followers a long time ago but she just couldn't stop. Running blinding through the forest of her last guardian was a piece a cake. She jump swiftly, avoiding the roots that caused her so much misery in her teen days. However, it gave her whole exhausted body a wave of relief knowing she was close to her destination. The sacred tree, where everything began with her.

She slide to a stop, her jaded azure eyes focused on the giant sacred tree while her lungs work hard to return her breath back to normal. Kagome fell on her knees in front of Inuyasha's tombstone with a small thud. Her long raven locks made a curtain around her delicate pale face. Hiding away the tears and shame that she couldn't hide inside her anymore. Rain and lightning lights up the black sky, exposing the many injuries she carried on her person.

She lays one hand on the injury on her shoulder where an arrow still pierced her flesh, creating a nasty bruise around it. Her gaze lingered at the arrow for a minute before she hold her breath, and quickly took it out with a small grunt escaping her pale lips.

She let out a sigh and slum forward, resting her forehead against the tombstone. Her mind was in a whirl, she was in a better word, shocked.

Thunder roared throughout the sky to shake even the earth beneath her. However, so many things were in her mind to even bother with mother nature right now. Even the arrows and slashes across her back was ignored because she has a more dangerous problem in her hands and that is: Naraku, he lives once again.
