A whole year can bring many beautiful things into perspective, but it can’t settle horrible problems that arise in the process of seeking perfection. It was a bright sunny day, and the two of them were walking through the lobby of their hotel, a bright beautiful first day of their honeymoon vacation was looming in the distance.

“I’m glad I packed for warm weather,” the raven haired girl smiled brightly, reaching out to grab her new husband’s hand. His golden eyes turned towards her, sending tendrils of excitement jolting through her veins. “What do you want to do today?”

“I was thinking of cooking dinner for you tonight,” His lips tilted barely enough to show a smile played on his features. “If you are able, can you go into the market we saw a few miles east and pick up ingredients?”

Kagome smiled as she was lead to the garden behind their hotel for a nice, brisk walk.

“Sure,” Kagome replied. A thought struck her though, about the car they had rented at the airport. “But... You’ll have to teach me how to drive the car first, I don’t know how to drive a stick shift!”

And that’s how it all a started. A simple roll of her man’s eyes and Kagome almost saw red. Was he annoyed with her for simply not knowing how to drive a stick? What the hell was the matter with that?

“You do not possess the knowledge already?” He asked, his tone filled with indignity. “I thought when a child learns how to drive, they are taught on both vehicles in case of a moment like at the airport where the only thing available to drive is a stick.”

“No, I didn’t. Can’t you just teach me now?” Kagome’s cerulean eyes glittered with rage as she stood in front of her husband of twenty-four hours. He was now toying with the idea of not surviving to see forty-eight.

“A stick shift is quite simple, Kagome,” Sesshoumaru’s voice, while not condescending, had only succeeded in making her more irritated. She squirmed her way out of the arm that had snaked its way around her waist and huffed. “Is something wrong, Kagome?”

Kagome glanced up to see genuine concern shine from his perfectly sculpted face, and she found staying mad at him for more than fifteen seconds was almost impossible. She’d get back at him for his snippy attitude somehow.

“Yes,” She huffed. “I want you to teach me, it’s dumb that you won’t do it!” Her face had a pink twinge to it, telling her love that he’d better change his mind quickly, or suffer the consequences of her unspeakable wrath. An idea popped into the girl’s head, and she fought against the smirk trying to break free.

Eye widening in an innocent fashion, Kagome flashed Sesshoumaru his one weakness: her adorable puppy eyes. When he turned around to cast his gaze at her again, she could practically feel the guilt quickly overriding his senses; his lower lip was engulfed under his perfect teeth as he chewed for a few split seconds.

“Alright,” His voice carried a higher pitch than usual. “I’ll teach you.”

“Yay!” Kagome bounced in her step as she walked to the car, already prepared for a lesson in driving the shiny Saturn Sky Roadster. She popped into the driver’s seat after waiting for Sesshoumaru to unlock it. An eyebrow lifted in confusion as he handed her the keys and a small piece of paper.

“Here is the secret to driving a stick shift,” He leaned into the car, leaving Kagome confused as hell. Why wasn’t he getting into the passenger’s seat? “You grab that stick and make like you’re giving me a hand job.”

A quick kiss was planted on her shocked lips, and silver hair tickled her nose as her husband disappeared.

“What did you do to the car?” Kagome let her smirk hang low as she handed a shocked puppy the keys to the rental and a plastic bag filled with random goodies.

“It’s you’re fault you didn’t teach me properly, babe.” Her reply fell on deaf ears as Sesshoumaru looked at the damage his wife had caused to their poor mode of transportation.

Dents were everywhere, scants of silver paint chipped off the sides as if Kagome had scraped it against stray bits of metal. How she had done that, he’d never find out, nor want to. The passenger side window had been shattered, giving Sesshoumaru the impression that a retarded thief attempted to rob Kagome while she was driving, but knowing her, it could have been anything.

Amongst the damage of the rental car he’d now have to pay the damages for, the silver haired executive pulled a handful of sugar canes from various dents in the body of the car.
