Forget Me Not by Sereia

Bastion

The Shiro was not what she expected.

For some reason, Kagome had created the image of grey walls and empty rooms in her mind, but Sesshoumaru's home thrived.

The towers themselves were intimidating, but the large doors gave way to a bustling market and contemporary village. Soldiers mingled with children, and although the human population was minuscule, there was an overall feeling of peace.

Glancing over her shoulder, she noted the size of the locks and the strength of the youki that surrounded them. The initial feeling of foreboding had dissipated once they'd passed through the doors, leaving her to wonder why she'd been so anxious in the first place.

"Keh, show off."
