When the battle was over, when her destiny was completed, when she vanished from sight, Sesshomaru knew he would never be the same again. Too much had occurred. Too many emotions had been inspired. And now she was gone. Gone from his protection. Gone from his touch.

Gone from his life.

Only days prior had he learned of her origins. She was a Miko not of this time and place. She was of the future. She was of the unknown. And now he would never see her again. Or would he?

Sesshomaru stared upon the place he had last seen Kagome. The last spot she stood when making her final wish on the completed Shikon no Tama. And it was here, at this sacred place, he vowed to wait for her. To find her. To have her.

Now, there was nothing but time, nothing but yearning. For the next five-hundred years, the melancholic Inu Lord would wait. Then, and only then, would he have her.
