Great update! You showed great emotional restraint in this chapter, giving just enough detail so we could "see" what was happening, rather than having a heavy hand and "telling" us. No melodrama here, but the reader can feel the intensity of feeling from all the parties concerned.
I think Scotch and Bourbon are technically kinds of whiskey. I'm at work, so I can't go to my cupboard to check out the proofs, but they are all strong liquors. I'm really enjoying this (in a sad kind of way, given the subject matter), and am looking forward to your next update... Keep up the great work.
