Angel Of Darkness (Kurai Tenshei) by Cuffin_Insane

Chapter 1

A/N: Written to the song 'Bad Boy' and Kurai Tenshei translates into Dark Angel

The final battle was before them.

Kouga had already gone down, the chance of him being alive was nonexistant. He gave his life to save the woman he loved with the entirety of his soul, the woman who was currently crying for him. The human miko, the purest woman he had ever had the chance to meet, the Shikon Miko, His Kagome.

He had looked into her stormy blue eyes with adoration as his spirit slowly left his body. The words 'I Love You' tingled on the tip of his tongue, yet he no longer had the strength to tell her as his vision slipped away into the darkness of death.

Kouga had been the first to fall, but he was far from the last. Sango was the next to fall victim to Naraku's evil scheming. Brought down by the very brother she had been trying to save.

Her body lay before the innocent Kagome; Sango's eyes were open and lifelessly staring into Kagome's own. Sango's weapon laid a few feet away, she had been unable to use it against him in the end; instead she had tried to reach Kagome's side. There had been hope that he could be saved, if Kagome was able to purify the shard that lay tainted in his back. It had failed. Kagome was unable to pull the taint from his body.

Instead of her brother fighting beside her as she had dreamed, Sango had fallen by his blade. Within the eyes of her sister, Kagome saw herself condemmed. She had failed her and, in the end, lost her. Sango's arm was outstretched towards as if... even in death... asking for her help in freeing them from Naraku's evil.

Miroku had fallen soon after Sango, protecting Kagome as she fired her arrows against Naraku, as tears blurred her vision. It was a stray tentacle that had stolen her brother from her. Her attention was focused solely on the creature that had, one by one, stolen the majority of her small family from her. Kagome had not sensed the the tentacle that was aimed for her breaking heart, Miroku had.

Miroku did not have time to deflect the attack, instead allowing his instincts to take control he protected her with his body. Willingly he took the hit that would have killed his dear sister.

"Remember the feelings, remember the day that we all truly became family," blood speckled his lips as Kagome held his body to her own, supporting him. "You'll always be my little sister. I love you, but it's time I left. Sango is waiting for me." Kagome began sobbing as she felt his spirit leave his body, hugging her own as he left her alone.

It was too much for her, Kagome collapsed. Her arms wrapped tightly around around her brother as she hugged him to her.

"NO! You can't leave me as well. Please come back to me... Please!" Her body was convulsing by now, her loud sobs enveloping the battle.

Immersed in her grief, Kagome didn't sense Inuyasha before it was to late.

A cry of 'Momma!' swept across the now eerily quiet battle field, as Shippo flung himself towards the woman who had become his mother in everything but blood.

He had to save his momma!

He had surprised Inuyasha enough that he slightly changed the direction of his attack. His claws took down both Kagome and Shippo, killing the young fox demon and seriously wounding Kagome.

"Inuyasha... why?  You... you promised to protect me... Inu..."

"I lied, you pathetic excuse for a reincarnation. Why should I protect a copy? Never mind a weak and helpless one, I made my choice. I never loved you, it was all an act. One you were to stupid to see... I... NEVER... LOVED... YOU!"

With a sneer, Inuyasha left the only woman to ever have the strength to truly love him, not for what he was... but for WHO he was and could have become... and walked straight into the arms of his undead lover, whose heart was as black as Naraku's own.

"Let's leave, Naraku. Her wound is fatal, besides I'm tired of dealing with trash like her. Let her die slowly, surrounded by the bodies of the useless weaklings she called 'family' yet couldn't save." Within the blink of an eye, Naraku, with Inuyasha and Kikyou at his side, disappeared.

"Shippo... Sango... Miroku... Kouga..." Kagome cried as she clutched her wounded shoulder. "He promised to protect us. We loved him... How? How could he betray us? I'm sorry... Kami... I'm so sorry... but I can't join you guys yet. He has to pay. I'm not this weak! I can't die... I must..."  Her vision began to darken. "Must avenge everyone. I can't... I can't die yet..."

As she slips into unconiousness. "Inuyasha must pay..." Where the last words uttered as death attempts to chain her to his side.

Her purity had been tested...

And became twisted...
